From 8 Prototype Units to 1,200 Units in Annual Sales: Manager Hou from Qinzhou, Guangxi’s Path to Success with Yuejiujiu

In the Electric Tricycle market of Qinzhou, Guangxi, the name of Mr. Hou — owner of Jingui Tricycle — carries weight. Today he is the agent for Yuejiujiu Stainless Steel Tricycles, with annual sales steady at around 1,200 units, one self-operated store, and ten township distribution outlets. Looking back to 2017, however, Mr. Hou's business was still focused on iron-body tricycles produced in Fengxian, Jiangsu.

"Making money from Fengxian vehicles is one thing, but I never had confidence in their quality or word of mouth — nowhere near as solid as Guangdong-built vehicles," Mr. Hou recalls. He then travelled in person to the Yuejiujiu factory to inspect the materials and processes on site, and on the spot signed an agency agreement to formally begin cooperation with Yuejiujiu — a partnership that has lasted from 2018 until today.

What makes Mr. Hou glad is that Yuejiujiu offers not only great products but comprehensive support. In the early days, the factory subsidised storefront signage, rent and promotional materials, and refreshed his shop with the highly recognisable "Yuejiujiu red" signage to quickly build brand awareness. To strengthen sales and service capabilities, the manufacturer organises regular training sessions for Mr. Hou and his distribution partners — from product selling-point analysis and practical repair tips to customer-handling scripts — content packed with actionable know-how that can be applied directly to everyday operations. On parts supply, the manufacturer keeps common spare parts in stock at all times: orders placed by township outlets in the morning arrive by the afternoon, completely solving the cash-flow problem caused by stockpiling inventory themselves. On the marketing side, a regional account manager accompanies him on visits to township channels, runs ground-push events together, hands out flyers, and explains product advantages to customers on the spot — helping clear stock and close deals.

Today, sales of Yuejiujiu Stainless Steel Tricycles at Jingui Tricycle remain strong, and many township outlets have proactively reached out hoping to switch to Yuejiujiu exclusive distribution. Cooperation details are currently under negotiation. Looking to the future, Mr. Hou is brimming with confidence: "This year's goal is to hold the 1,200-unit baseline. Next year we'll aim for 1,800 — and if we can push further, we'll push further!"
